J. Matthew Linehan is Chief Corporate Counsel at MarshBerry, providing legal guidance and support to the firm’s investment banking and consulting businesses across the United States and Europe.
With over 15 years of experience in legal counseling and civil litigation, Matthew combines strategic insight, technical expertise, and proven negotiation and courtroom skills to navigate complex legal matters.
Before joining MarshBerry, Matthew served as counsel at UB Greensfelder, a prominent Midwest law firm representing Fortune 500 companies and a diverse range of clients. His work has covered business disputes, employment issues, tort claims, government investigations, and contractual matters. Known for his practical solutions and technical aptitude, Matthew is a seasoned trial and appellate attorney and has successfully addressed challenges at the intersection of law and technology.
Matthew is licensed to practice in all federal and state courts in Ohio, as well as the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Sixth and Ninth Circuits. He earned his law degree with honors from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Oklahoma. He is an active member of the Association for Corporate Counsel, The Sedona Conference, the Ohio Bar Association, and the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association.
