Valerie DeMell recognized as an Inclusion Champion by the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation
MarshBerry is proud to announce that Valerie DeMell, Executive Vice President, has been recognized by The Insurance Charitable Foundation (IICF) for their 2017 Inclusion Champion Awards.
The IICF celebrates greater diversity and inclusion at all levels within the insurance industry. Valerie is being recognized along with 27 other highly qualified professionals who work diligently to advance diversity within the insurance industry. Each of these individuals has championed women and diversity in the workplace and has had an influence in their organizations and industry-wide.
“We are so proud of Valerie and the example she sets not only for the women in the company but all of MarshBerry,” said Chairman and Chief Executive Officer John Wepler. “She serves as a role model for diversity and women in our workplace and her impact on our organization is great.”
Since joining MarshBerry, Valerie was the first female shareholder and has worked to lead the company towards a culture of diversity and inclusion. In 2016 she was featured for her efforts on diversity in the workplace as part of MarshBerry’s NorthCoast99 Award and was honored by Insurance Business America as one of their Elite Women.
