Hello, my name is George Bucur and I’m a director within MarshBerry’s financial advisory practice.
Serving specialty distributors such as MGAs (managing general agent), MGUs (managing general underwriter), program managers and wholesale brokers, today we’re bringing you a little different topic of conversation and that is about MarshBerry’s 2022 Peak event. We are now coming back after running this event for a number of years. Now some people ask, George, what is Peak, and would it be appropriate for me to attend? Well, Peak is what I consider a very unique and a very timely experience in that individuals get to participate and get updates of what’s happening in the specialty distribution and markets arena. In addition, there is a robust amount of networking. And I’m not talking speed dating where you see somebody for 25 minutes and move on to the next meeting. This is sitting down at a table, breaking bread with somebody, shaking hands, and having that old fashioned networking, which has really gone by the wayside over the last few years — all in a beautiful environment at the Hyatt Centric in Park City.
When it comes to the agenda, we’ll be talking about various topics that are very relevant and developing to the specialty distribution network. We’ll have an overall State of the Industry. We’ll talk about M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions) transactions and deal activity. We’ll talk about the front-end carrier evolution and where that currently is in the marketplace, and how specifically that is impacting the specialty distributors such as yourself. In addition, we’ll be bringing in several carriers for a panel that focuses on the different types of carriers that we are generally seeing in the marketplace. Whether they’re specialized and distribute through external MGAs, whether specialized distributing through in-house MGAs or the new, again, fronting relationships that we are seeing emerge over the last two to three years. We’ll get unique and interesting perspectives from each of them. Further, we’re going to be talking with Pat Hanley, CEO of Socius.
MarshBerry closed a transaction with Socius, and we’re going to get the “life after the deal” perspective from Pat and how things have been going with their new private equity partners, Abry Partners. Peak is one of MarshBerry’s keystone events, and we are extremely excited to get back into the swing of things and see you in person.
