Raising Equity Capital
Equity capital is money raised by selling ownership in the company. This can come from a variety of sources, such as angel investors, venture capitalists, or even family and friends. The amount of equity sold is determined by the valuation of the company and the price at which the investor is willing to buy in. Equity investors receive a share of the profits in the form of dividends or capital gains, but they have no say in the day-to-day operations of the business.
Our equity capital services include:
- Valuation of your enterprise, either on a majority or minority basis
- Identification, ranking, and introductions to potential equity capital providers
- Negotiation of competitive pricing and terms
- Assistance with confirmatory financial due diligence and document review
Raising Debt Capital
Debt capital involves borrowing money from lenders or financial institutions. Debt capital is often used for short-term needs such as covering expenses until revenue starts flowing, as well as long-term needs such as purchasing real estate or large equipment. The most common sources of debt capital are banks, credit unions, and other financial institutions. These organizations may require collateral, such as real estate, equipment or inventory, to secure the loan.
When you partner with MarshBerry, our advisors will provide debt capital services including:
- Identification, ranking, and introductions to potential debt capital providers
- Identification of optimal loan types
- Market pricing considerations
- Negotiation of debt terms
